COM 47300 - Practicum In Communication
A formal, working experience with a determined organization or agency. Students will be responsible for finding an external organization, securing a project to complete with them as work experience, and getting a faculty member to oversee the project. Projects must meet expectations for three credit hours of work for the semester. In addition to the project completion, all students will write a final experiential paper.
Preparation for Course P: Department permission required.
Cr. 1 to 3. Notes May be repeated for credit up to a total of 3 credit hours. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Gain real work experience in their field of study.
2. Complete agreed upon work product for an organization.
3. Demonstrate an ability to manage a project from start to finish.
4. Demonstrate marketable skills necessary to move into the workplace.
5. Understand responsibilities associated with professional experience and responsibilities.
