HTM 33400 - Introduction To Sports Event Management
This course provides a basic understanding of the event management process as it relates to sporting events. Students will explore costs and revenue streams, marketing strategies, community and media partnerships, risk management, and contemporary issues for sporting events.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Define the size and scope of the sports event management industry.
2. Appraise the expenses and revenue streams involved in the sports events industry.
3. Analyze sports event marketing and community engagement.
4. Analyze risk management for sports events.
5. Outline issues related to selecting facilities.
6. Examine expectations that facilities have of sports event organizers.
