PSY 20300 - Introduction To Research Methods In Psychology
The use of scientific method in psychology. Lecture covers principles of collecting and interpreting data, using examples of research from many areas of psychology. In the laboratory portion, the student uses many different techniques from various areas of psychology.
Preparation for Course P: (PSY 10000 or 14000), and PSY 12000, and (PSY 20100 or STAT 24000), all with grades of C- or better. R: ENGL 23301.

2. Identify distinguishing features of good science, bad science and junk science.
3. Critically evaluate research findings.
4. Understand how study designs are used to answer research questions.
5. Present and interpret experimental data in an APA-style paper.
