Overview of the fundamental legal framework that governs the conduct of hospitality and tourism managers. Topics include civil rights, contracts, court procedures, ethics, and risk management.

1. Discuss the framework of the legal system and how a case progresses.
2. Analyze legal and ethical standards for hospitality and tourism enterprises including interactions with guests, other patrons, tenants, suppliers, and employees to determine potential consequences if they have not been met.
3. Analyze torts impacting hospitality and tourism enterprises and describe their legal impacts.
4. Describe the dynamics of risk management and develop strategies to mitigate losses.
