HPER 11900 - Personal Fitness
Instruction in basic principles of conditioning and fitness. Emphasis on muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory endurance. Designed for students without prior knowledge of conditioning methods.
Cr. 1-3. Notes Letter grades are given in all HPER classes. Some classes are offered in eight-week sessions; check the Schedule of Classes for scheduling information. Activity classes cannot be repeated for credit. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Explain the components of physical fitness and describe how regular physical activity contributes to overall health and well-being.
2. Develop and implement a personalized lifetime fitness plan that incorporates individual goals, preferences, and principles of exercise.
