ECET 29600 - Electronic System Integration
This course introduces students to the design, fabrication, and integration of electronic systems that combine analog and digital circuits. Emphasis is placed on electronic design automation (EDA) tools for printed circuit board (PCB) development, as well as professional engineering tools for system testing and measurement. Students learn to plan projects, design and fabricate hardware, and integrate software-based measurement and testing. The course culminates in a working prototype that is evaluated through fabrication, testing, and formal oral and written reports.
Preparation for Course P: ECET 20400.
Cr. 3. Hours Class 1, Lab. 2-3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Apply project planning methods to define, schedule, and manage an electronic system design project.
2. Design and fabricate printed circuit boards (PCBs) using electronic design automation (EDA) tools.
3. Integrate analog and digital subsystems into a functioning electronic system.
4. Utilize professional engineering software (e.g., LabVIEW) for design, measurement, and system testing.
5. Conduct experiments and analyze results to validate design performance against specifications.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in modern engineering tools for design, fabrication, and verification of electronic systems.
7. Communicate project outcomes effectively in both oral and written technical reports.
8. Work effectively in teams, demonstrating collaboration, problem-solving, and professional responsibility.
