BIOL 10000 - Introduction To The Biological World
Principles of biological organization from molecules through ecosystems. Emphasis on processes common to all organisms and on concepts related to problems of current importance.
Cr. 3. Notes Indiana Core Transfer Library course along with BIOL 10001. No credit towards a degree in IU Allied Health. Credit given for only one of the following: BIOL 10000, BIOL 11700, BIOL 25000. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Analyze and apply the scientific method to real world scenarios by distinguishing between scientific and non-scientific explanations, and evaluating the role of science in everyday life.
2. Describe and explain the structure and function of cells, genetic mechanisms, organismal development, and evolutionary processes that drive biological diversity.
3. Evaluate how biological systems, such as ecosystems and animal organ systems, interact and contribute to the development, function, and sustainability of life.
