MUSC 18101 - Popular Music Theory, Analysis, And Application I
A study of the foundational elements of music theory with emphasis on application within popular music genres.
Cr. 3. Notes Must be admitted into a program of the School of Music. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Identify chords used in popular music.
2. Utilize notation software to generate written scores.
3. Identify and correctly write all major and minor key signatures and scales.
4. Sing most intervals used in popular music in both directions (up and down) such as m2, M2, m3, M3, P4, T, P5, m6, M6, m7, M7, 8va.
