INTD 30800 - Interior Design II



This course emphasizes on design principles of commercial/institutional projects. The course covers topics of space planning for office building, reception area design, conference room design as well as workstation design. This course also covers topics of building code, clearance and circulation.  

Preparation for Course
P: INTD 11200 and 20100 (or equivalents).

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 
1. understand of design fundamentals including design elements and principles; theories of design and design composition; 
2. understand of client and user needs and their responses to the interior environment. 
3. understand building codes and regulations
4. select and apply color in interior design projects 
5. select and apply interior finishes and materials 
6. detail and develop layout of furniture, fixtures, and equipment 
7. do space planning, elevations, and sketches 
8. use computer-aided techniques to generate 3D models; illustrative sketching; 
9. present color, materials, and furnishings 
10. express ideas clearly in oral presentation and critiques 
11. understand professional organizations
