HTM 43000 - Hospitality Strategic Management
The purpose of this course is to survey tools and techniques of strategic analysis, formulation implementation of competitive and corporate strategy. Specifically, this class aims to prepare for leadership roles in the hospitality industry by focusing on the knowledge, skills, values and perspectives needed to manage hospitality organizations, strategically.
Preparation for Course P: ECON 20000; HTM 37400; HTM 14100 or BUS 20100; and HTM 24200 or BUS 20200. Each class must be completed with a grade of C- or better.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Analyze principles of strategy formulation and competitive analysis.
2. Identify and analyze critical issues confronting an organization and make recommendations for strategic solutions.
3. Tailor strategy to promote its implementation with all stakeholders.
4. Utilize analytical skills, tools and techniques for analyzing a company strategically.
5. Formulate a managerial perspective in analyzing a company.
6. Evaluate thinking critically and strategically.
7. Practice the ability to work in teams.
8. Differentiate skills related to understanding and utilizing basic business analytic and statistics tools.
