SOC S425 - Violence and Society Considers violence in society: its origins, forms, and consequences. Aspects of violence considered include biological, psychological, social, and cultural. Forms examined include revolution, terrorism, family violence, religious conflict, and mobs/riots. Purpose of the course is to help the student better understand the role played by violence in modern society.
Preparation for Course P: SOC S161 and ENG W233 or SOC S260 (or equivalent), or consent of instructor.
